WHY LEARN TRAUMA RELEASE

There’s a link between emotions/stress, and physical health. The term “mind-body connection” is commonly used, but in fact emotions and stress trigger a body’s fight, flight or freeze mode. Long term, a continuously activated sympathetic nervous system may contribute to health issues.

In this three (3) hour workshop you will learn an incredibly fast and simple technique to release emotions/stress connected to current and past trauma.*

This effective “no-talk” technique integrates the body’s energetic and nervous systems in order to release entrained trauma. This is energetic bodywork, NOT talk therapy.

For example, say a family member won’t discuss what’s bothering him or her, or it’s not appropriate for you to talk about a personal issue with a client? This technique provides a way to address a person’s emotional issues or stress, without that person having to recall, talk about, or re-experience the cause.

Here’s another example: perhaps a person has been diagnosed with a serious illness and is very afraid. We know healing is facilitated when the body’s nervous system is in parasympathetic mode. This technique can neutralize the fear, thus taking the nervous system out of flight/fight/freeze mode.

We all have “stuff.” You’ll be able to teach another person to apply the technique to you, or apply it on yourself.

This technique is “disruptive” in the sense that no other technique gets results like this in one session. The hope is that it will spread widely because ANYONE can help family, friends, and clients at little or no cost, and can teach others.

*Please note that serious psychological issues—including but not limited to abuse, mental illness, and addiction—should be addressed by a licensed professional.

YOU WILL LEARN TO:

  • Identify an emotional/traumatic issue to clear;

  • Activate the energetic body;

  • Activate the central nervous system;

  • Apply the Trauma Release procedure to a practice partner, and experience it yourself;

  • Disconnect energetically from the partner; and,

  • Clear released emotions from the room.

WHO CAN SIGN UP

Any adult can learn this energetic bodywork technique, no prequisites. As it releases “stuck” energy, practitioners of acupressure, acupuncture, reflexology, or Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as Tapping, will be interested in learning this complementary technique. No massage table is required.

WHEN TO USE THE TECHNIQUE

Physical Trauma: The body’s tissues can retain the trauma after falls, accidents, serious injuries, surgeries, etc. Many bodyworkers have had clients who experienced a spontaneous emotional or physical release during a session, and this greatly assisted their physical healing. This technique accomplishes the release of retained trauma, but it is intentional, not luck or coincidence.

Traumatic Life Events: Apply this to people who have been severely stressed by robbery, betrayal, loss of job, war, fire, a destructive weather event, illness or injury of a loved one, or have otherwise have been emotionally stressed by events beyond their control.

Relationships: Apply this technique to the underlying causes of emotions such as rejection, anger, betrayal, guilt, disappointment, grief, worry, and fear.

ORIGIN

This trauma release technique was developed by André Dückers (Netherlands), an osteopath who taught it to Madeline McBride in July 2023 in England. Madeline brought it to North America and enhanced it with the powerful energy system activation taught by Qi-Matic Healing Master-Instructor James Foo (Toronto, Ontario, Canada). The technique is so simple that you will easily be able to teach it to others.

INSTRUCTOR

Madeline McBride is a Certified Bowenwork/Bowen Therapy Practitioner (Advanced) and Neuromuscular Therapist who practices in Ottawa, Ontario. She became a licensed instructor of Hormonal Release the Bowen Way in 2022. In 2024 she began to teach her own workshops to non-Bowen Therapy practitioners. Her training is extensive. In addition to the list of qualifications found on this website’s About page, Madeline has been Qi-Gong Master James Foo’s student of his frequency-based energy healing techniques for more than 10 years. She also has EFT Universe Level 2.

Madeline: “The world needs this Trauma Release. Even if I teach nothing else, I will teach this until I drop. It’s that powerful.”

CLIENT FEEDBACK

1. After 65 Years I’m Free!

This client agreed to describe her personal experience of the technique. L.A.’s issue was feeling unsafe.

After one round, she reported: “There was all this energy going up and down my spine… I felt the energy in my head, in my body. The top of my head and the right side were vibrating. My body was vibrating.”

Immediately after L.A. finished processing, she was asked if she could relate to feeling unsafe. She replied: “Hardly. It’s like I am reading it in a book… I just couldn’t believe it. It was like, WOW. Holy sh*t, 65 years of my life, this is how I have lived to keep myself safe. At the moment I can’t think of anything else but gratitude that I could ever feel this free.”

Twenty minutes later, L.A. added: “When we finished (the first round) it was 1.5 and now it is maybe 0.5. The number keeps dropping slowly. I think by the time I get home it will be a zero!” Ottawa, ON, October 2023

2. Breathing Easier

This client did not state her issue aloud, but said it was a 7 or 8 out of 10. After one round it was a 3. “It’s like there’s a weight off my chest. I am not 100% over it, but I can deal with it.” J.K., Ottawa, January 2024

FAQs for TRAUMA RELEASE PRACTITIONERS

How can I help a client identify the key issue?

Often a client is not aware of the link between a life event and the non-resolving physical issue. The retained trauma could have originated years ago.

Ask “What was going on in your life when this health issue started?” For example, a client with a chronic stiff knee volunteered that she had injured her knee around the time her house had burned down.

Alternatively, you can simply ask these two questions:

1.    Is there something in your past that really upset you?

2.    Are you ready to let it go?

Please note that clients do not have to answer aloud. However, they do have to be honest with themselves. There’s a tendency for people to insist, even internally, “I’m over it.” Suggest they try the technique on the first issue that comes to mind.

How many of my client’s issues can I address in a session?

Address one issue per session. More than that will not be effective. Either the body will refuse to process more, or you will interrupt the release of the first issue. That release can continue for hours or even days.

How often can I perform the procedure on a client in a session?

Some people’s systems can handle only one round. Has the emotional intensity reduced to 0, 1 or 2 out of 5? That is enough for the session. The person will continue to process. However, if other aspects of the issue occurred to the client while processing, that signals the need to continue on and perform a round on each of those aspects.

Do I start over from the beginning for each aspect of the issue?

Yes. Ask the client to hold the intent to clear the specific aspect that first comes to mind, and start the procedure from the beginning.

Wait at least a week between sessions. The body needs time to integrate the change. Note that some people may take longer than a week to process the trauma release. If you hold another session too soon, or try to do this too often, the body will simply refuse to process the release. The body is in charge and knows what it can handle!

Where do I make the moves?

Your intent is to activate every nerve exiting from the left and right of each spinal vertebra. The nerves (yellow in the image) are accessible between the vertebral transverse process bones. Ensure your fingers move over the dip between the 24 transverse processes on each side plus down over the sacrum to the tailbone.
